Collingswood was the first New Jersey community to be selected for a Great Places in America designation. The APA singled out Haddon Avenue for the way it melds the past with the present, the look and feel of small American towns during late 19th and early 20th centuries with the conveniences and smart growth development practices of the new millennium.
