For the past two decades, Collingswood officials have reached out (and heard back!) from residents using forums. Forums are informal meetings that bring together the community with Borough representatives to discuss…anything! There is no prepared agenda, no topic too small, no issue too big. The idea is to open conversation about our town and our neighborhoods.
This year marks the milestone of more than twenty years of forums in Collingswood. To celebrate, and encourage even greater participation, the Mayor and Commissioners would like to hold monthly forums in each of Collingswood’s neighborhoods. We’re coming out to schools and complexes to try and reach all residents! The monthly forums will be held the second Wednesdays of each month, 7pm, at different locations. “One of our best tools is talking directly with as many folks as we can,” said Collingswood Mayor Jim Maley. “We get some of our best ideas from residents. We hear about issues that we might not otherwise have heard about. There’s a great community energy in forums. It’s really important to us to make sure folks can talk with us.”
Forums topics often include safety, trees, parks, updates on town projects, infrastructure, ideas - anything that residents want to talk about. All are welcome at any upcoming forum, regardless of your address or neighborhood.
