"Wars of the Roses" by The Collingswood Shakespeare Company
The Collingswood Shakespeare Company will present an epic production of the Bard's Wars of the Roses. The project covers four of Shakespeare's history plays: Henry VI, parts I, II, and III and Richard III. Fans of classic literature and history buffs will not want to miss the drama leading up to Tudor rule in England.
Wars of the Roses will be presented in three parts at the American Legion Post #17 (622 Atlantic Avenue S) in Collingswood.
-Part I will be presented on Friday Feb. 26, Thursday March 4, and Friday March 12 at 8 pm.
-Part II will be presented on Saturday Feb. 27, Friday, March 5, and Saturday March 13 at 8 pm.
-Part III will be presented on Sunday Feb. 28 and Sunday March 14 at 3 pm, as well as on Saturday March 6 at 8 pm.
Those who prefer to see the plays in a single outing will be able to do so during the Company's War-A-Thon, to be held Sunday March 7 starting at 10 a.m. A light breakfast will be served; breaks will be given for lunch and dinner.
Wars of the Roses will also be presented at the Haddonfield Friends Meeting house, located at 45 Friends Avenue in Haddonfield, on Friday March 19 at 8 pm (Part I), Saturday March 20 at 8 pm (Part II) and Sunday March 21 at 3 pm (Part III).
Tickets cost $15 for adults; $10 for students and seniors. Those planning to catch all three shows can purchase a $30 three-show package. Tickets for the War-A-Thon are $25. For more details, including ticket-purchase information, e-mail collingswoodshakespeare@gmail.com.
